| I don't see anything on the Tora sight about this series. Depends on when this series will be run if I'll be able to race.
Sundays are out for me for instance. Saturdays are limited. |

| It's not an official series yet, Tom. It's still in the testing stage. Here's a link to the discussion thread:

| I'm going to try the cars and if the time is right on Saturday, I'm might be able to race.
I see there has been practice sessions on Tuesdays at around 2PM Pacific time. I could at least practice with people to get the feel of the cars.
I did get my car in the top 100 at Indy in R1 Class. The Speed 8 is faster than the propossed cars though.
It was mentioned, at Tora, that the times around Indy were in the 0.42's

| Hello, AMR here, I've noticed your interest in the TORA forums and I thought it best to explain certain aspects of the series ([smug]which was my idea[/smug]).
Firstly, you are the first American competitors based outside of TORA to take an interest in this "test" series, as you may be aware the majority of our site members (and indeed the "cheifs" of the association) are based in the British Isles.
Ok, the carlist, yes it does look a bit odd, sparse and vague, there is a reason for this, you may notice that all four cars that have been approved (for the first series) are open-top, there are no roofed prototypes (sorry TomCat), we are trying our best to be as close to Indycar as possible.
We also wanted to have a low amount of approved cars to begin with, there ARE another 4 that we could possibly use that are open-top LMPs, but we want to keep to a minimal "rookie" carlist, so that if we DO end up going into a 2nd or 3rd series with these cars, we can open up the carlist to the likes of the 333SP and the Panoz.
The same goes for the amount of circuits we could use, it could be easy to start up a series with ALL the open top LMPs and ALL the Ovals, but the 3 circuits we've decided on are ideal.
Indanapolis for obvious reasons, and the same goes for Motegi, Sedona may or may not look like Dover Downs, but we've been testing it anyway and they all work...
...so does Sunset, with a ridiculous amount of close drafting between competitors in the test sessions and the lap times put down on this track in testing have been phenominally close, however these cars are so grippy that they can slip below the "white line" on this course and carry on their same speeds with relative ease, unlike Indy which has an unfeasable amount of "sticky" surfaces so close to the racing groove (I'm using the right terminology here right?). We have looked at the other obscure ovals, a couple of the Benchmark courses seem to work, and also if we do expand on the venues, the closest we could mimic the Cleveland racetrack is running the Top Gear perimiter course. There are no legitimate road courses as of yet, because of the advantages some of these cars have in the handling department.
For the purposes of keeping the racing close the collisions are "on" but unfortunately the damage will be switched to cosmetic, this is only because the damages suffered in the early testing phases were not good for racing more than 10 laps at a time, and of course the bodywork NEVER gets repaired (thanks turn 10!!).
We have been contemplating a virtual Indy 500, but it will not happen to begin with, this is a question of interest in the series, and of course we would have to switch to a "timed" race for the purpose of mimicing the greatest spectacle in racing.
I do have a full rulebook set out, but will not "publish" it until we have a decent amount of entries to take part in the first "test" series.
I hope this clears things up, and I hope your interest in this series is retained despite some of the arcadey aspects we have had to unfortunately revert to.
Another testing session will take place at 11pm UK time on Saturday, December 10th (6pm ET I belive, I could be wrong though)

| Sounds interesting, AMR!! If I'm not in the middle of dinner Saturday, I would be happy to test. I do have a race three hours later so I'm not sure how much time I will be able to devote to testing. |

| Sounds good to me. The cars are expensive, but I do have the #15 2008 Acura that I would use even if it is not quite as fast.
I will try to make the next test session which would be 3 PM my time. Neo, maybe we could get Brandon "SH" interested, since he's lives in Indy also.
If anyone has one of the other 3 cars, I would like to test it out. |

| Not a problem, I can probably send you the setup for that acura that we have been using as a base...
...is there anyone with enough Cr. in your club to buy all four and upload them to the EzT Garage? (I'm assuming you have one on Forza 4). |

| I could afford another car right now, but the Acura might be a good starter car until we see if the Series is going to catch on.
You can send me the #15 Acura build to make sure I have it right.
We will find out who is interested on our team and then maybe only each team member would need to buy one car. |

| You didn't miss much. We raced at Infenion. The young kids in the race, were making quite a bid of chatter. With Stock tuning and upgrades, I was slooow.
The next race is on the Indianapolis speedway on Dec. 30 at 9 PM Eastern.

| Before "test day" draws near I'd like to ask those who are interested in tonights session to add me to their lists, so I can send them the series vynil, and also can the volunteer who bought and uploaded all four approved cars to add me too so I can send the base setups made by our "official" series car tuner. |

Also, the sessions on tuesday should be for racing rather than times. Collisions on but damage cosmetic. |
