EZT Motorsport is pleased to announce the first Sunday Night (SNS) race series for 2020! The fourth iteration of the Sunday Night Series (SNS4) events puts a twist on the old Import v Domestic "battle." Instead of pitting the import cars against the domestic cars, two of each in this series, all four cars will be used to craft the best strategy to maximize points on four tracks inside the United States and four tracks outside the United States. Further compounding the challenge, drivers must determine the best car / track combination with the understanding the import cars will be driven on the US tracks and the domestic cars driven on the non-US tracks
(with a maximum of two tracks for each car).
The only exclusion to this is for Teams. Teams will consist of only two drivers with the top driver scoring team points. Also, the team must consist of an import / domestic combination. In order to hold a Teams Championship and a Privateers Championship, there must be four or more teams signed up for this event.
The EZT Motorsport Import & Domestic Championship, running in our Sunday night slot, features--as previously mentioned--two import cars and two domestic cars. Each has a specific build with full-tuning options. The series will run eight weeks and will feature four US tracks and four non-US tracks.
The series rolls off in Tuscany, Italy and Mugello Autodromo Internazionale for Week 0 with livery inspection / qualifying and Race 1 a week later. The series then heads to Ino, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan and the Suzuka Circuit for Race 2. The competition will be between Domestic cars for these two races. Continuing the trek East, Race 3 through Race 6 competition will comprise only Import cars. Race 3 will be on the surface streets of Long Beach and then heading to Sonoma's NASCAR circuit (short) for Race 4. After Sonoma, drivers then pack up and head further East to the grand prix circuit of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Race 5. The swing through US tracks culminates with Race 6 in Braselton, GA and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. This wraps up the competition among the Import cars. The final two races will find drivers competing in the Domestic cars on the German tracks of Hockenheimring, Race 7, and Nurburgring--the only NIGHT race on the schedule--for the finale. As a result of assessing the strengths and opportunities of last season, we have developed a new rules package for this season aimed at improving efficiency on race nights. For this series we are introducing "Race 0." This will be a Qualifying and Livery / Build Inspection night only. We are offering the livery inspections to insure that all drivers are in compliance with the posted livery rules. In addition, we will utilize Forza Race Regulations (FRR) for this series. We have tested this and while we recognize it is not perfect, we believe it will provide incentive to keep the racing clean and honest.
Race 0 inspection and qualifying will be held on 03 MAY 2020, with the first race scheduled for 10 MAY 2020.
