TORA FM4 Stuff

So I guess we'll stick with 8:30 EDT Mondays for Miatas.

Ugh. Just found out that my backup host cannot do Mondays. 

So that leaves us with Thursdays.

I feel it may be a welcome break from all the high HP stuff we've been doing. And Miatas usually produce some good ol' fashioned fun racing.

Ran a 1:48.7xx at Laguna Seca. Looking forward to it. Thursdays would be great!

Would anyone like to team up for the Miatas? Right now there is only one team entry, and unless there is at least another, it will be drivers championship only.

Thanks for the offer, Mikey. I'm gonna be in Seattle 09/30 thru 10/12, so I decided to go solo - wouldn't be fair to a team to miss two dates right off the bat.

I'm fine either way, as the top two from a team count each week, which means on a team of three, we'd be okay with a missed round or two by one member.  

I've got a good feeling about my pace for this series, as Miata is "my happy place"

If it works for you guys, I'd be happy to join y'all!

Good deal! WFO / We're Freekin Old certainly works for me! ( Whiskey Foxtrot Oscar , lol ). Shoot me the paint when you get a chance!

For this series, I've relaxed the livery rules, allowing different liveries on the same team. But, I'll still send my paint over to you and to Midnite, along with the "WFO" sticker I made (looks a lot like the oval shaped "nation" bumper stickers)

And feel free to replace the Allied Forces logo on the decklid with EZT.

Nice!  Would like to have what GMT equates to in terms of US times...perhaps Central time would be good.  Not sure when it's five hours or four hours or six hours.

9pm GMT would be 3pm Central time Neo. Central time is GMT-6

20:00 GMT = 15:00 Eastern Standard Time 14:00 Central Standard

20:00 BST = 15:00 Eastern Daylight Time.

Things get confusing mid-October, as Britain goes from BST to GMT two weeks before the US goes off Daylight Savings Time.

Would have loved to race Miatas with all of you, but I had some great battles with Mako along the way. 

It was fun racing in the Spec Miata Series.
I was able to get my Personal best Leaderboard times in most of the races for D class.

Maybe we can race another series in a different class.

The next series builds are now being tested. 

The old NASCAR idea was a bit of a wash. Some loved the cars and the feel, others not so much, and IMO, the difference between the fast guys and slow guys was just too wide a gulf. 

So, we're giving a successful vintage series a little tweek, for its third run, but first run in American Primetime. 

That wreck at the end of lap 1 last night put me in an awkward position.

It happened so late in the lap, and Balmier got such a great start, that i think he was crossing teh line when it happened. So technically, it may have been too late in that regard.

And with the delays, I knew Mako was very short on time. Had we restarted, I was afraid he'd have to leave a few laps early.

The only option I could have used was restart, and cut the race distance a couple of laps, but even then, it could have been seen as unfair to the leader, as like I said, I think he had already crossed the line and was on lap 2. And I didn't even think of that option until this morning.

I think the rule of 3  or more cars in the 1st lap should include any cars that have not completed the 1st lap, would be a cause for a "restart"

Once the first car goes over the line, it's officially lap 2.

I know you were right there with me at the time that a restart was mentioned. Weren't we in or maybe even passed turn one by then?

No, we were still on the front straight going up the hill. The leader was pretty close to or at the start line though. And personally, I obviously did not want to see a restart. Even taking a couple of laps off at that point wouldn't have helped, I would have been unable to finish the race. It's all moot now anyway, the race is over and the series is in the books. Besides, there's a couple of clowns who still need to learn some racing etiquette anyway.

Sad to say that the VTA is the last TORA series slated for FM4. We were hoping for Backwards Compatibility, but that has yet to be seen for Forzas, and the numbers have dwindled down to too low to carry on. However I am happy to end the franchise with a good series...

On a positive note, the FM6 series to start 2016 should be bigger and better than anything TORA US has seen to date. You'll find out exactly what's in store in early January
