TORA FM4 Stuff

Hey Mako! I just got my income tax refund check, and I hustled up a deal on a 1992 VW GTI mk2! It's a little rough around the edges, but I figure with your wrench turning skills, we could set it up for the TORA VAG series.  I know it's only class B, but we should be competitive enough and besides, what's a VAG without a beat up old mk2? Lemme know, and I'll get 'er towed to your shop.

Ya know, I am afraid that B Class car count might be a bit short...


... but this is a full TORA Series, and you'd be eligible for whatever perks come with race series championships: Those cool Champion Ribbons, both for team and driver, as well as a shot at the 2015 Race of Champions.

Usually those are all rather hard to get, but in this case almost too easy, but still fully legit.

Hey Mako - seems like there might not be a lot of activity in B class - the only other guy that signed up for B is Lanrell, and I would prolly expect him to jump to A when he sees that he's gonna be racing himself. Mebbe we should look at an A class car - don't want to be sandbaggers. Would like to stay with the V-dubs, as I had enough of the Audi TT, and I'm not a big SEAT fan either, lol. Really didn't want to turn this into a test-fest - mebbe the '98 Mk3?

Yeah, I noticed that. There's only 3 for A class right now, so who knows. I like the Seat's, but the VW is fine by me. Maybe have both ready and see how it goes. Still a week away till the series starts.

Looks like two B class sign ups - with us, that would be four. That works for me!  Let's go with the 92 Mk2 - I'll work on a paint!

Nice!! I tried to get on this morning and found the Ethernet cable for my 360 has taken a poop. I'll grab one in the morning after work and try it again tomorrow.

Mako - was gonna try and hook-up this AM, but I gotta go out. Sent you a build / tune, but feel free to do your thing! The car is a blast to drive but how it's gonna fit in with all the insane lap times remains to be seen.

Yeah, was good one! You're quick. I'm really glad you got DNS points for the second race - only right.  I can't fathom the delays. My understanding is that conflicts are resolved by re-setting the lobby, and sending invites via qual positions - then attempt the other lobby for the conflict. The second race went quick, so all we need is a 30 minute improvement for you to make both  I did a build and tune for TX's VW Fox, and was able to break .39. I sent him an FR and will send it if he's interested. Will catch ya later!

Hey Coot, I sent you a tune for tonight. Check it out and see what you think. It's Solar's build re- tuned. I was almost a second faster than with our set up. I ran a fast lap of 2:30.4xx, with splits for possible 29's.

Hey Coot, ran some laps this morning and was in the mid 40's. I think it will be a good time. Same tune as last week. Works perfect around there. I'm on vaca this week so if you want to get on a bit earlier and do some laps, I'll check in and see if your on.

Just asking... anyone here up for racing early Saturday mornings? 10:30am Eastern/7:30am Pacific.

If so, I am working on a B Class/300 or 350 HP Max Classic series to test out a new time slot for TORA.


BTW, American Iron WILL be run on Wednesday nights starting in May.

The Time of the series will be at 7:30 Pacific?
I'm interested in the series, but 7:30 AM?

Will ABS Braking be allowed? If not I would be in trouble.
My MS wheel doesn't like Non-ABS Braking.

Assists allowed. And yeah, my crazy work schedule has pushed me to try a crazy new (7:30am my time) timeslot. But TORA is International, so for most of the World, its not that bad a time.

At 495PI B Class, I feel that I have differed enough from the old VM series enough to not irk that series' originators.

lol... Mako and I were just talking about whether somebody would pick up the Classics format!  Such a great series - need to start the negotiations for the Sat AM time slot. Will remain optimistic!

Did a very few laps last night. Still to find the "dominant" car, as the GTO, 02 Camaro and 96 Lexus are all very equal.

I've decided on the 02 TA, based on stability for consistency's sake.

Good choice Mikey! I remember that car being very solid.

About the "different car" rule...

I narrowed my choice down to four, and picked the car my teammate liked the least. Now he's got three to choose from.

Mako, not sure "why" that first build didn't fit the lobby settings, but have sent a revised copy for next week. 

Tip for Sunset Club: aero is optional in the series. Try both with and without to see what works better for you.

Thanks Mikey. I think it was the HP. Even though it's set to <= to 400, if your right at the top it won't let you in. Don't know why it does that. If you could increment HP by 10's it would be so much better.

Thanks for the tip for Sunset. I typically prefer aero anyway, and I can always scale it back if needed.
