RACE 7 - LONG BEACH

There were three incidents that were reviewed from the race at Long Beach Monday night:

1. LAP 3:   BruteTerror bumping UNR DRAGOON due to Brute being "unable to control the car due to drinking"
   
   
2. LAP 3:   UNR DRAGOON severely cutting Turn 8 in an apparent attempt to make a pass on BruteTerror
   
3. LAP 4:   UNR Dakotaman backing up on track to enter the pits after significantly passing the entrance (five or more car lengths)
   

RESULTS:

1. Determined BruteTerror was in complete control--clearly not under the influence--and bumping DRAGOON'S car was minor; in part caused by DRAGOON dragging his brakes though the corner
   Recommended:  NO PENALTY - RACE INCIDENT
   Actual Penalty:  NO PENALTY - RACE INCIDENT
   
2. Racing is to take place with at least two tires on the racing surface (between the marked edges of the track--red lines at Long Beach).  DRAGOON was clearly to the right of marked edge of the track at Turn 8 running over the rumble strips, no tires on the racing surface, in an apparent attempt to make a pass.  It is up to the driver making the pass to do so safely.  This clearly was not the case.  It turned out the pass was not completed.
   Recommended:  TWO POSITION / FOUR POINT PENALTY
   Actual Penalty:  WARNING
   
3. No driver is to drive backwards on the track (either backing up or driving against the race direction).  UNR Dakotaman clearly missed pit entrance, came to a complete stop, and backed up in an attempt to enter pit lane which also resulted in spinning his car, in front of an oncoming driver.  That driver was required to slow down in order to avoid UNR Dakotaman as Dakota was entering pit lane.
   Recommended:  RACE DISQUALIFICATION
   Actual Penalty:  WARNING
