Its fairly common knowledge that one of my favourite series in my short Forza careeer so far was an F Class Special on the VTCC involving Stock Austin Healy's, theres just something about F Class racing which makes being slow an art form and its certainly a fantastic education in track knowledge. So it came as a pleasant surprise when the EZT Motorsports guys announced there first series of 2013 being a return of the City Car Challenge and like i need an excuse to have a run in the sun on a late Sunday evening.
The inspiration for the paint, well, its quite an old paint now, well its about 9 months old. My former team mate MGR Taeatua was after a paint to publicise the Citroen Dealership in which he works in Brussels. So the original paint was done on a Citroen DS3, a replica of the Sebastien Loeb scheme from a few years back, complete with the GMAN Dealership details.
Well it went so well that the paint was transfered across to a Citroen C1 for the Hot Hatch Trophy on VTCC at the time, the Citroen C1 actually picking up a race win around Nurburgring GP Circuit i remember well, mind, Mr T flew around that circuit in most things. Anyway, the paint has remained on the Citroen C1 in my Forza garage ever since and well, it now gets another chance to grab some limelight, although weather too many GMAN employees would be aqround at 2am on a Monday morning, well thats debatable. But the Wheelwash being the night owl and looking forward to getting a chance to run a proper race at Positano in the series (i dont get out much, lol).

The opening round of the EZT Motorsports City Car Challenge and eighteen cars and drivers in the pits at Maple Valley, raring to go in perhaps the slowest championship out there in online racing. The practice sessions were certinly proving one thing, how important the qualifying was going to be and so it was the case with less than one second covering the first sixteen drivers, Lobby One being split by just 0.35 seconds.
The man on pole was TG Takumi, qualifying with a 54:114, but the home team wernt going down without a fight this week and the EZT guys had Neo and Puckhead qualifying second and third. For myself, well i can honestly say that this is the first time i had gone this way around Maple Valley Short, and with a qualifying time of 54:467, i was always going to be on the cusp, fortunately, just scrapping into Lobby One in the ninth and final spot.
The race itself, 32 laps of Maple Valley Short and blimey it flew just, which is harder than it sounds in a car that only reached 84mph at its fastest point. TG Takumi did what he does oh so well, made it look effortless as he took a flag to flag win, his Team Gizmo team mate TG Bobwithajob ending up with a second place finish.
Carbureted Chaos took the Kitty Kat Special to the final spot on the podium at the end of Lap 32, with EZT Puckhead in simply the best paint job by far backing up the quality qualifying effort with a solid fourth place. Why the paint job so good, well im hoping that its based of the North American version of this cult classic in the UK.
Made by Fisher Price, my sister had one 35 years ago, my son had one just a couple of years back, and the paint on the Citroen, just the spitting image and the first thing that sprung to mind.
For myself, well i made a couple of spots early doors, moving up to seventh before having a moment which can only be describe as well forgetting what the steering wheel is there for, as i simply forgot to turn going into Turn One, insetad enjoying a trip into the scenery and dropping myself back to the final spot in the Lobby.
After that it was all about trying to catch Shinach, the dbUK man was slowly growing bigger in the windscreen, and with the recovering EZT Neo 45 and EZT Uncabunca both running solid laps, it was probably the one and only chance to a place in the remaining laps, thankfully i managed to achieve an overtake on Lap 27 and an eighth place spot by the chequered flag.
A fantastic bit of entertainment, where a slight mistake meant you lost spots and nailing that perfect lap was essential. Next up is Tsukua Short, the practice will again be going in this week.
Theres more pictures on my new Facebook site Wheelwash Racing & Media , yeah, thats middle aged man doing social media now alert, and the full thumbnails on my forum in the What, Where, When section in the current series.

Life in the fast lane, absolutely!!
Yes folks, the slowest Championship in online racing returned on Sunday evening for Round Two of the City Car Challenge, the Nascar boys and girl may have been breaking speed records in the Coca-Cola 600 over in Charlotte (as well as camera cables) but they wasnt the only ones as the EZT Motorsports City heroes were reaching speeds of nearly 79 mph in Tsukuba around the Short Circuit.
Just eleven cars this week on show to face the best Japanese Short Circuit out there, qualifying was the high pressured four lap sprint as always, and last weeks winner in TG Takumi did what he does best and secured another pole position in the Championship with a time of 56:438, it was only just as F4H Gashi x was just behind with a 56:482.
For myself, well unfortunately the phrase bottler springs to mind, having been running fairly consistent 56:800's all week, the pressure took its toll and a time in the 56 second bracket turned into the mission impossible. In the end, a time of 57:154, good enough for just seventh on the grid.
The race itself was a story of two duels for myself, the opening half being plenty of side by side action with Onabreak, the Short Bus Racing charger had his Citroen C1 dialled in very nicely to the Tsukuba Circuit, and once disposing of myself, and then EZT Uncabunca, was giving EZT Puckhead in the Fisher Price Classic grieve by the end of the 28 laps.
Once Onabreak had, well made a break for it, the second half of the race was myself and EZT Uncanbunca nose to tail, switching positions on more than one occasion, the EZT leader getting the upper hand by the race end.
Elsewhere, the battle for 8th position looked a busy place early doors, with EZT Coot, EZT DJ, EZT Challenger and welcome rookie DireAires running nose to tail, in the end Challenger just getting the better of DJ but by less than a second.
TG Bobwithajob and EZT Puckhead had fairly quiet races in third and fourth, Puckhead having some pressure over the last few laps as Onabreak was a man on a mission in the second half of the race, chucking in a lap time of 56:471 at one point. But out front, it was another win for Team Gizmo and TG Takumi, it took a while to grind down F4H Gashi x in second place, but he did in the end, but thats taking nothing away from Gashi who was on the coattails throughout the whole event, qualifying and the race itself, this was no gimme out front.
Theres more pictures on my Facebook site Wheelwash Racing & Media as always for the events i run in, on all sites. Next week sees the City Cars speeding off to the Ladera Test Track, a venue very rarely used. Will TG Takumi make it three from three?

The third round of the City Car Challenge, hit Spain and the rarely used Ladera Test Track with the Short Circuit in use for the tiny terrors. Seventeen cars making the trip across, including a welcome visitor in F4H Diablo, who was along to support team mate F4H Gashi x, as well as representatives from dbUK, DFWW and Team Gizmo. Of course the big numbers from the EZT guys, as you would expect since its there series, sounds like a cue to post a picture of the greatest paint in the series, courtesy of EZT Puckhead then and the brilliant Ring A Ding C1, here with EZT XessIVLife in the similar mounted Wix Filters C1.
I will admit, i made a real effort this week, as i was slightly disappointed with my effort last week, and thankfully, the time and hard work paid off, chucking in a 44:391 in qualifying, which ended up being third fastest. The machine they call TG Takumi racking up another pole position this week, with a fine time of 43:837 in the five laps.
Two lobbies for the race then, Lobby One having nine up for battle, the Team Gizmo keeping the front row, with myself in third, followed by EZT Uncabunca and F4H Diablo, unfortunately a restart was required as F4H Gashi's wheel decided that now was the perfect time to glitch and he had no brakes, which going into the tight left hander resulted in a very embarrassed driver and a scene from a random Public Lobby of carnage!!
Thankfully, all was forgiven pretty quickly, and much respect to F4H Gashi x who raced the entire 34 laps with no brakes, amazingly setting a fastest lap time in the process of 44:110, yep that would have been good enough for second on the grid in qualifying, which with no brakes was pretty amazing really.
The restart saw TG Takumi break out front, with TG Bobwithajob in tow, F4H Diablo soon making his way up to third place, passing myself around the outside of Turn One in a fantastic manoeuvre, Shinach following along in fifth. The race was fast and frantic, no really, well as fast and frantic as you can get in base F Class Cars, but six of the nine drivers broke into the 43 second barrier and duels were breaking out all over the place, the one between F4H Diablo and TG Bobwithajob being rather entertaining to watch from 200 feet back in fourth place.
The laps soon wound down this week, TG Takaumi taking another win, making it three from three in the series so far, F4H Diablo eventually getting the better of TG Bobwithajob. I myself hung on for fourth place, although the last ten - twelve laps were under the cosh as Shinach was challenging hard having found some speed and back markers coming into play.
F4H Gashi x finishing sixth, yes thats sixth with no brakes, EZT Puckhead following him home in seventh and the EZT duo of Uncabunca and XessIVLife rounding out the remaining spots, battle scarred but big smiles all round!!
Next up, well its a trip to the Almafi Coast and the Rallye De Positano, the round in which i think plenty are really looking forward to, if the racing is anywhere near as good as Ladera, then it should be a cracker next Sunday. Its still not too late to join in, check out the EZT Motorsports forum for full details and if you want more pictures, well the Wheelwash Racing & Media Facebook Page has all the shots from all the races i take part in and as always the replay on my storefront for the next seven days, to enjoy the race again.

The penultimate week in the EZT Motorsport City Challenge 2 and a trip to simply the best circuit in the game when wrestling F Class beasts around the track. Yes folks, Rally Di Positano on the Almafi Coast, the Monaco GP of Forza Motorsports, as a race its very difficult to overtake anywhere, the track is just so slow and tight in places, but it oozes class, is simply the best place for photographers and in this type of racing, its just perfect in my eyes.
Unfortunately, its bloody expensive as well, so just fourteen drivers making the trip across this week, but a welcome sight in PRT RaCeR making it this week for his debut in the series and having lagged out in qualifying, he had an entertaining race to say the least, coming from the back of the grid, but more on that in a bit.
Practice this week, well enjoying the challenge that is Positano is enjoyable, so i have done a fair few laps, and with times in the Mid 1:13's i was fairly happy coming into the evening, in the pre qualifying warm up, a lap of 1:13:076 was ran, which felt like a lap from the gods, and for that brief second, i was thinking i had a challenge for the pole position maybe, if TG Takumi was to have a bad few laps, just perhaps a time like that could be good enough.
Well, how wrong was i!! Being in the same qualifying lobby, the machine popped in a few laps in the 1:12's and then produced something of pure brilliance for the second time in two days having put the Alfa 33 Stradale in the 45's at Tsukuba Short in the VM Classics, he ran a 1:11:485 in the Team Gizmo Peugeot 107, a time that was one and a half seconds quicker than anyone else and nearly three seconds quicker than the 4th place qualifier, a truly amazing lap in an F105 rated car.
The race itself, well unfortunately we lost EZT Puckhead due to lag in the opening lap, pulled out for the restart to pick him up, but he had gone. We did get EZT Challenger in, but he then lagged out of the lobby before the start, again never to return as the Forza Servers appeared to be having the night off.
TG Takumi was away out front, followed by team mate TG Bobwithajob and after some early pressure from EZT XessIVLife, myself chasing hard in third. Further back, well it all sounded like pure entertainment, the oooo's and the aaargh's coming over the mics was fantastic listening, you could tell those concentration levels were turned up to maximum.
PRT RaCeR was making a superb effort, cutting his way through the field, and once in fourth place, all i did was watched the distance in feet dropping, lap after lap, so much so that i actually cant remember anything else from the race, i was in the zone and with a 1:02:902 included in that time, i was giving the Red Bull Loeb Citroen some welly around the Almafi Coast.
Further back EZT XessIVLife held on for fifth from EZT DJ, who was like a man possessed this week, racking in some cracking lap times and im thinking another fan of this circuit like myself. Dire Aires rounded off a good qualifying effort with a seventh place finish by the end of the twenty one laps.
Another fantastic week of entertainment then, congratulations to TG Takumi on the Championship Win, all sealed before the last round at Camino Veijo next Sunday. So next week is all about the fun and the pride and enjoying the last outing in the current season for the F Class Warriors in the EZT Motorsports City Car Challenge 2.

The final round of the rather excellent EZT Motorsports City Car Challenge Season Two and a finale around the Camino Veijo Short Circuit, which of course is the mid sized one and not the mini version that we all know and love from lobby set up's and rumoured by leaderboard times for a couple of drivers now!!
Just like Rally Di Positano last week, this is a circuit bult for these cars and practice during the week had compromised of two targets for myself. The first was to run a lap under the minute mark, it became the new obsession and took until Lap 16 of the race to finally achieve, the other was could i get the Citroen C1 to reach 70mph along the back straight, alas, i failed in this task, reaching 69mph every time before hitting the incline and having tried hundreds of different variations in lines it felt like, it was something that defeated me in the end. Does this mean i ran alot of laps around this track, hell yeah, i was loving it!!
Slightly disappointing was the turn out, only nine drivers making the trip across to Spain for the finale, the Championship winner TG Takumi was one of those missing, so it did mean that we would be having a different name on the winners column at the end, with Team Gizmo's TG Bobwithajob, ATP Wheelwash and EZT's very own leader EZT Uncabunca looking at sealing the deal, it was certainly close in qualifying, with TG Bobwithajob just taking that honour with a 59:969, but just two tenths seperating all three drivers at the front of the grid.
EZT Puckhead, who certainly wins the award for best paint by a country mile with the Fisher Price Ring Ding Citroen was just a further tenth back and with guests from Short Bus Racing with Onabreak and DFWW with Sir John Raptor, for what it lacked in numbers, it certainly wasnt lacking in excitement.
The race then, well the duel at the front was a bit special, TG Bobwithajob got out ahead, but in a sneaky cheeky move in a Wacky races type way, i attached a massive tow rope and anchor to the team Gizmo car and well, the rope was only 100 foot long and it never snapped. For all 26 laps, it was a duel between the two Citroen's, mistakes were punished by the others and the final bend was seeing two completely different lines, which were both working for each driver, it was a cracking duel to be involved in and the 26 laps just disappeared so quickly.
Further back, EZT Uncabunca struggled in the first couyple of laps and was swallowed up by the oncoming pack that were taking no prisoners. The battle between the EZT duo of Puckhead and Mako 6669 with Onabreak in close company and on the limits sounded just as much fun as the scrap for the lead.
Come the end of the 26 laps, it was TG Bobwithajob taking the win, with ATP Wheelwash just three tenths behind in second place, they had pulled a gap on the battle behind in which Onabreak took the final spot on the podium to close out a fantastic series.
A big thank you to the EZT guys for the series, its been a cracking way to spend the early hours of a Monday morning. I will admit, the thought of F Class racing isnt for everyone, but as far as learning a circuit goes and being punished for the simple mistakes, its survival of the fittest out there and life below 70 mph, bargain!!
Theres a few more pictures on my Wheelwash Racing Media Facebook Page as there is for all the events im racing in and the replay will be on my storefront for the next seven days and a worthy watch it is too.

Here it is kids, some footage from our final race. I'm sorry for the delay, I ran into some technical difficulties which may or may not have involved large quantities of alcohol.
I also apologize for those who did not make an appearance in this video. I wanted to get everyone in, but there was some severe lag issues with several of the drivers.
Anyways, hope you like....
