DRIVERS AND HOSTS

Within your room, one person needs to collect all the information together with the help of all other drivers and post the information in this thread. This information includes
- the finishing positions
- Total Race Time of the winner
- fastest lap from room
- Note any lagouts and what lap it happened

I ran some practice laps today to see what lap times I could get with Sim Damage "ON"
I first ran with Auto trans quite a few laps in Rivals and got 2:23.76X with no Damage
I then switched to Manual trans and got 2:23.3 on the 2nd lap, but had 8.6% Engine damage in the 3rd lap, so quit.

I watched Mako's replay of 2:32.7 and he had no damage.
I don't know if he had Sim damage on or not.

So I will be running Auto Trans on if I keep getting Engine damage with Manual Trans.

I wonder why you are getting damage, Tom. I don't know if MAKO is getting any damage. I don't think he is, but I'm not sure.

I have gotten into the 2:20s. I'm sure Lanrell will be in the 2:18s, though.

I do run Sim damage when practicing, and I'm not getting any engine or tranny damage using manual, no clutch. The only way I know you could be getting damage wold be dropping down multiple gears, like 6th to 3rd, over revving the engine or stressing the tranny.

Tom, if you can, do like a 5 lap race and save the replay. Let me know the replay file name and I'll watch it to see if I can see anything.

There is the Rivals Replay of my 2:23.3   

If I can get on the XBOX, I'll get on and run the 5 laps in FREE Play.

So Tom, I watched the rivals replay and I see what the problem is. Your downshifting WAY too soon and redlining the engine severely. You incurred 12% damage in just one lap. You need to brake and wait for the revs to drop before downshifting. Even though your not using a clutch, you still need to rev match.

I figured that’s what was happening. Don’t use the trans to slow the car down at high speed.

I cut out a lot of shifting down early and only into 2nd on a couple of corners and didn't receive much damage at al..

I got my personal best lap time of 2:20.9xx and that was on lap 17. 
I don't know how I finished in 5th place though.
